I wish I were there

I Wish

I Wish

All alone in my room
With my dreams and memories
Some wishful thoughts, some fine remembering
I wish I were there today
Where there is love, where there is hope
Where I could find friends who’d help me cope
Where care and affection is everywhere
The familiar fragrance is in the air
I wish I were there, I want to be there.

A Rising Doctor

Doctor

Doctor

Doctor Yeast-Cake, it’s hard for me to speak,
As I haven’t risen for more than a week.”
“Take this, Mr. Roll, and never you fear;
You’ll rise before morning, so be of good cheer.”

Fat Girl

Fat Girl

The daughter of the farrier
Could find no one to marry her,
Because she said she would not wed
A man who could not carry her.
The foolish girl was wrong enough,
And had to wait quite long enough;
For as she sat she grew so fat
That nobody was strong enough.

Quest for Unity

Unity

Unity

We are flowers in God’s garden
We are leaves of one tree
Black and white, red and yellow
Man is one, can’t you see
Come and join us
In our quest for unity
It’s the way of life
For you and me.

Sailor

Sailor

A sailor went to sea, sea, sea.
To see what he could see, see, see.
But all that he could see, see, see.
Was the bottom of the deep blue sea, sea, sea.

A Race

Race

Race

Merrily the breezes blow!
(We’re in Wonderland, you know.)
Merrily the hoops are spinning!
(Hats, are they? well, it’s no matter;
All the better for the hatter.)
Can you tell me which is winning?
Red or blue? I wager red.
Ladies first! But Master Ned
Won’t be far behind Miss Alice.
When the pretty race is run,
They’ll put on their hoops what fun!
And go home to Wonder Place!

A Pinch of Salt

Salt

Salt

A little boy said to a bird,
“Is it quite true what I have heard–
A pinch of salt upon your tail,
And I shall catch you without fail?”

The little bird said to the boy
“Salt is the right thing to employ.
A pinch of salt will never fail.
But first of all, please–catch any tail!”

My Garden

Garden

Garden

Where daisies grow
And pretty poppies in a row
Where stars can glow
Where trees give shade
A place with flowers
And water of showers
Where else can it be?
But in my beautiful garden!
